Following a $1.4 million renovation, the building that housed this community’s newspaper, the Kansas City Kansan, for 80 years in the heart of downtown is now the site of new professional office space with artist’s studios on the lower press room level. Featuring high ceilings, tall windows and skylights, an historic entry lobby, and a modern elevator, the building is now home to local civil engineering and surveying firm BHC Rhodes as well as other professional groups. Artist studios are available on the lower level offering very affordable studios for working artists. Permanent art galleries have been established on-site and the location is a popular spot during 2nd Friday Art Walks.
